As I mature and find myself realizing that obscene power is just that... I think to myself, if I ever feel the need to spend too much on a car by buying a ferrari, it might as well be a 360 with a manual.
80 grand is still way too much for me to justify spending a car on though.
The new er stuff looks nice, but you don’t need all that power.

My wife has the S10e. I went with the S10. I sort of like hers more. It's a better size than the 10.

Happy Saturday! I drove my car for the first time in over a month the other day. The ebrake was a little frozen pulling it out of the garage but once that was free and one little cough going down the street it ran great!
I need to finish putting together my mountain bike and then look in to if I can afford to change suspension on the wrx this year. I think I have a plan for it which, depending on if I sell the old suspension won’t end up costing too much.

The 458 is so much less ungainly, especially from the side and back. The vette does look sexy up front though

The 430 was the last V8 Ferrari to come in a true manual anyways so it’s not like you can expand your pool considerably if you want something newer.

I decided to get some subordinate financing on my house to maybe pay for a little treat for myself knowing I’m gonna probably sell my place in a year or so. In one sense it went very well (appraised at about my best-case scenario ), in another it went very poorly (they’re waffling on whether to give me cash-our because I don’t have enough debt, apparently). So I’ve been daydreaming about what I might get once this is sold and I get settled in a cheaper area of the country.
DB9, well-loved F360, R8 4.2 or MAYBE 5.2 ( not sure I can stomach that) , i8, have all come to mind. Testarossa and 550 are probably on the outside looking in, but dat V12 doe
I’m not someone who buys anything for myself ever (the most expensive car I’ve owned in the last 10 years was $4200 for my RX-8) so I talk a big game we’ll see if I back it up when I have to write a check. But right now I’m leaning toward trying to live the dream, since I’m guessing this is the only chance I’ll have for the next 25-30 years.

Going shopping for a new toy today. Unfortunately not one with 4 wheels. It’ll have 6 strings or tubes....can’t decide yet which one.

That’s the beauty of their newest products that is usually unseen. Their ability to create a way to control and manage that vast amount of power unlike a Demon or high HP tuner Lambo . Incredible chassis development, top tier drivability software, worldclass aero/active aero, and many other aspects that make these cars dominate at the track yet, in the hands of a douchebag, yes.... accelerate quickly through busy streets.
I’m am thinking of making an OPPO only video explaining my thoughts on these cars before and after being around them on the daily.

I gave the 348 a quick wash and might do the leather a little bit later. I am heading to the Petersen tomorrow morning for their annual Enzo birthday cruise in. My car isn't perfectly clean, but still looks pretty good.

I highly recommend NO on a Sexarossa or 550 but a 360 manual or DB9 sound epic!
I haven’t been on OPPO as much the last 2 years like years prior but I had sort of the same situation. My neighborhood was sort of going down hill all of a sudden and in a rapid pace. Property taxes and appraisals peaked. I figured if I want to leave, that was the time to do it. My home was small and I didn’t have hardly any cash set aside for this big decision (inspector fees, etc.) I got the place back in 2013 at a final price of $90k . Last August, I put the home for sale at $155k and within 20hrs, a bid was placed. The house sold and easily covered the $70k or so that was left. Needless to say, I had a ton of equity all of a sudden to play with.
A clean F430 F1 coupe came up for sale by a client of ours and he was going to sell it to me for $40k. Oh how I wanted to get it, enjoy it for a while then easily flip it for a profit, but I didn’t. It was safer to just pay some debts and upgrade to a nicer home.

What’s so bad about the 550? I know the rossa was pretty high up on maintenance costs. The 550 meanwhile is higher up on the up-front but I thought the maintenance was a little more reasonable.

I am seriously considering dropping a new 5.4 Triton in my Expedition, supercharging it, re-covering the seats, change out the craptastic stock Ferd Nav/stereo, and getting some better wheels/tires. Sometime in the next year.
This is a horrible idea, but I can’t stop thinking about it.

Finding any non maintenance parts for Sexarossa is very difficult. Any 550 would have to go through an thorough engine check to make sure everything with the timing belt was done correctly as well as the F1 gearbox. Whether F1 or manuel, those eat clutches like crazy.
The time frame from old house sold to new house purchase was pretty much zero days and it didn’t give me time to do the car purchase. The places we were looking at required a hefty down payment in order to keep my mortgage low. Selling the car wasn’t a guarantee no matter how easy I assumed it would be. Didn’t risk it. Opportunities occur here all the time. Just gotta save up and go for it another day.
It was a Rosso Mugello with Cuoio interior similar to the one below

For that idea, find a F150 Haley Davidson that had the supercharged 5.4 (non Lightning) or a Lightning engine. Upgrade the pullies, intake, TB spacers and heat exchanger. Easy bolt-ons to make killer power. Plenty of rad interior shops here that could do this for an excellent price. Same thing with stereo and wheels Because Houston.
Against the idea..... just go test drive a CPO Expedition Platinum.
